Angels Camp, CA..The insurance market in Calaveras County will never be the same now that the "Insurance Sisters Emily and Courtney" from Bill Murphy Insurance in Sonora have opened a new location next to Taco Bell in Angels Camp. They will be having their Grand Opening on March 16th all day (Update Grand Opening moved to later date because of weather) and will be and about on Irish Day in Murphys. Bill J. Murphy Insurance in Angels Camp is an independent Insurance Agency selling all types of Insurance products including; Home, Auto, Boat, Life, Health, Motorcycle, Workers Comp, Business Owners Policies, Contractors Liability, Bonds, Commercial Auto and Renters Insurance....

As many of you know, 2012 is the last year for many of the Murphys Irish Day Planning Committee members. We won't be disappearing entirely but we will be stepping back to allow others to take on the major responsibilities for the event. We had really hoped that Mother Nature would bless us with one of those beautiful sunny days that we've seen so many of this winter. But it was not to be, and, for the first time ever, it actually rained on our parade, keeping many of our more weather sensitive entries at home. We certainly missed the horses, the beautiful antique cars and the bagpipers but we appreciated all those entries that did show up and smiled all the way down Main Street lead by St Patrick himself...

Sacramento – George Runner, Second District Member of the California State Board of Equalization (BOE), today announced that taxable sales in California grew by $8.5 billion (7.1 percent) during the fourth quarter of 2010, compared to the same period a year earlier. Taxable sales during that period totaled $128.9 billion, and tracked closely with income growth, continuing a trend that began in the first quarter of 2010....
