Murphys, CA...Recently Calaveras County Supervisor Merita Callaway launched her campaign for re-election with a well attended and festive event. The first of two planned open-to-everyone events, kicked off her campaign for re-election in District 3. The event in the Murphys area allowed her to network with voters in the Murphys/Douglas Flat area. The District has been enlarged via redistricting to include the communities along Hwy 4 down to the Douglas Flat area since the last election. As we were bouncing between events we missed her speech and wanting to be fair on giving the candidates an opportunity to get their messages out we conducted an interview with her in the Children's section of the Arnold Library on the Friday after the event....

San Andreas, CA...The new CCWD board room was the venue that Congressman Tom McClintock met with constituents at a town hall last night. Solutions to our water problems, The Affordable Health Care Act, The Rim Fire timber and more were subjects of not only his initial comments in the video below but also the question and answer session afterwards. Congressman McClintock was at a meeting on California water conditions immediately before this town hall. The Congressman who has been one of the right's most conservative voices and votes is being "Primaried" by a Republican challenger who is positioning himself as a more centrist candidate. It is doubtful of the success of the campaign but it may highlight the divisions within the Republican party....
