Wanted Man on the Run in Tuolumne… |

Tuolumne, CA...Deputy V. Lee conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a black Chevrolet Tahoe on Yosemite Road at Hershey Road West in Tuolumne early this morning. There were three people in the SUV. Deputy Lee spotted a gun in the SUV just as 25-year-old Alexandro Xavier (pictured in this post) ran from the front passenger seat. Xavier is wanted on a Tuolumne County traffic warrant, San Joaquin County warrants for drug charges, and an Escalon Police Department warrant for a weapons charge. Deputies gave chase when it was safe to do so, but came up empty handed.

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept...Apple users need to be aware of an ongoing phishing campaign that appears to be ramping up efforts the past couple days. Scammers have found a clever way to generate phishing websites and they're after your Apple ID and password. Tuolumne County residents have reported receiving numerous calls within the past few days from several people working under the pretense of Apple Inc.

San Andreas, CA...ORDINANCE NO. 20180110o3094. AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CALAVERAS COUNTY RESCINDING IN FULL AND ADDING A NEW CHAPTER 17.95 OF THE CALAVERAS COUNTY CODE RELATING TO CANNABIS CULTIVATION AND COMMERCE. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Calaveras does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1: Pursuant to its authority granted by Article XI Section 7 of the California Constitution, Sections 65850 et. seq., 25845 and 53069.4 of the California Government Code and Sections 11362.83(c) and 11362.768 of the California Health and Safety Code, Sections 26200 of the California Business & Professions Code, and The Control, Regulate and Tax Adult Use of Marijuana Act (Proposition 64, approved by voters November 8, 2016), Calaveras County Code Chapter 17.95, governing medical cannabis cultivation and commerce, is repealed in its entirety and the following new Chapter 17.95 is adopted and substituted in its place to read as follows:

ACDA Investigators Show Jackson Junior High Students How It's Done |

Jackson, CA...Last week, ACDA Investigators Gary Stevens and Ezra Peckinpaugh gave a Crime Scene Investigation presentation to over 75 Jackson Junior High students. During the two-day presentation, students learned how a crime scene can tell the story of an event, sometimes even without witnesses. They learned why we take precautions to preserve crime scenes and how we preserve everything we can to present all the facts of a case. They looked at real (non-graphic) crime scene photos, where they could see and identify things that stood out or were otherwise significant to the investigation and why. The students also got to participate in latent fingerprint exercises including collection and analysis.

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept....Sometimes you get lucky by being in the right place at the right time. One of our Deputies was driving through downtown Sonora Friday evening. He was flagged down by three people who had just witnessed a hit-and-run collision involving a white Ford pickup. The Deputy had the truck in his sights and was able to catch up to it as it turned onto Lyons Street from Shepherd Street. He watched as the truck veered in and out of its lane.

Deputies Recover Stolen Property from Senders Burglary, Valley Springs |

Valley Springs, CA...On 2-9-18 Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a commercial alarm at the Senders Ace Hardware store located at 129 Highway 12 in Valley Springs. Deputies arrived around 0315 hours and discovered the perimeter fence surrounding the business had been cut and there was a broken door leading inside the business. Through review of video surveillance, deputies found that two suspects wearing dark clothing, masks and gloves had forced entry into the business and stole a number of chainsaws, clothing and power tools.
