Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Very lite snow showers are happening as I write at 5am. We look to possibly pick up 2-4" of new snow today then tapering later this evening to snow showers as the system progresses East. WSW winds today will average in the low teens with possible gusts to 20mph. Friday and Saturday still look to be sunny before the next pulse of snow activity arrives Sunday. Don't forget about our 2 for 1 Tuesday’s and 50% off lift tickets for students and Emergency Responders. In our sharply politically divided country it may be time for us all to look back and reaffirm that our country really is a collection of ideas and ideals. The Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness that we all at times take for granted was hard fought and narrowly won. In the end our allegiance is not to a King, Dictator or Strong Man but too each other. One thing the founding fathers all agreed on was that human nature is subject to weakness and they took into account human frailties. They devised a system that has at many times protected us from man's and woman's worst enemy which is the reflection that stares back at us all from the mirror.

Hey Good People! Best Conditions in Years at Bear Valley this Week!

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! 8″ in the last 24hrs. Cold overnight temps in the single digits will make for yet another day of “Pure Mtn Fun” with soft pow riding still in effect for days to come! 9F at 5am this morning with overnight winds out of the NE up to 39mph. Today will be sunny(the first in some time) with a high of 22F and NE winds into the teens. Tuesday looks to be a repeat of today with a few degrees warmer and still great skiing/riding to be had. Wednesday through Thursday looks to bring in another shot of snow with 4-9″ possible then a sunny day Friday and return of snow showery weather for the weekend currently. The Grizz Bowl will remain offline for the next few days due to copious amounts of water saturation and avalanche hazards present and the need to let the snow pack consolidate and bond. Don’t forget to come check out our Pure Mtn Fun as we have lots of it going on this President Holiday weekend.

Back in the early 90’s, when Shawn was selling out of the back of his truck as “The Eddy Mart”, the most important items to have on hand were life jackets, river shorts, sandals and river knives. Oh yes, and a few things the rafting customers would want, t-shirts, hats, sunscreen, etc. It became obvious that The Eddy Mart was getting too big to operate out of a garage when the whitewater kayaks came. It was time for a storefront. That’s when providence arrived on the scene.
