Calaveras Sports Programs Fundraising Golf Tournament
Calaveras Sports Programs Hosting Fundraising Golf Tournament
The Calaveras Baseball, Football and Softball programs will be hosting a fundraising golf tournament on Saturday June 4, 2011 at La Contenta Golf Course in Valley Springs. It will be a 1 pm shotgun start. The golf format will be a Shramble – combination scramble and individual play. This is our 15th and maybe final year of hosting the tournament. It has been the primary fundraiser for these programs.....
We are trying out a new format for the tournament this year, the Scramble. In this format each golfer hits a tee shot, the best tee shot is picked. All players play their own ball into the hole from the spot of the best tee shot. We will move both the 6th and 15th tees up, so that the greens may be driven by a wide range of players and not just the long hitters. We will have the traditional on course contests, Closest to the Pin on 2 and 4, Raffle Hole on 13, and Long Drive on no. 9. Additionally this year on the 8th hole, you will have the chance to win a brand new car with a hole in one. The tournament will be followed by dinner, awards and raffle
It’s been a great run and we’d like to go out with a bang. Always an enjoyable afternoon on a fun little golf course in the hills.
Thank you for your support in the past and we look forward to spending a late spring afternoon with you.
