Free CFL Giveaway
On Saturday, December 4th, the Calaveras High School Earth Club in cooperation with Treats will be giving away compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL's) at three locations in San Andreas. Earth Club members will be at Mark Twain Hospital, Treats, and Kelly's Drugs from 10am -2pm giving away free CFL's and information about the benefits of using them to save money and reduce your carbon footprint. The project is funded by the Calaveras Unified School District Educational Foundation and the support of Fred Lavaroni at Treats.

Valley Springs Area Business Association 28th Annual Christmas Parade
• Rain or Shine – Parade begins promptly at 10:00am, be there for line-up no later than @ 9:15
• Enter the Parade route at the corner of California & Chestnut.
• Parade line up/location spot and maps will be available online by November 29th.
• Participation ribbons for kids 13 & under may be collected the morning of the parade.
• The judge’s stand will be on the corners of Daphne & Cedar
• Only 30 seconds will be allowed for judging.
• Trophies will be awarded immediately after the parade at the judge’s stand.
• Santa and Mrs. Claus will make a special trip from the North Pole to our Parade in Valley Springs. They have requested that no other Santa’s show up. (He’s had a problem with identity theft in the past)
• Throwing candy from floats is not permitted, however you may pass out candy along side your float.
• The Parade will proceed down Daphne; turn right at the Veterans Hall and then right at Sequoia where it will disband.

Holiday Art Show and Sale at the BARN
The BARN at Table Mountain Ranch is having an Art Show and Sale for two glorious weekends: December 4-5 and December 11-12, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm, each day.
This unique Art show will feature special one-of-a-kind items from local Calaveras County artists, in watercolor, oils, woodworking, mosaics, weaving and basket making, photography and jewelry. In addition, locally produced culinary delights will be available for sale.
The Barn is located at 921 Pennsylvania Gulch Road, Murphys, across the street from Indian Rock Winery. There will be a complimentary artists’ reception on Saturday, December 4th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Please come and join in the festivities.
