March 6, registration at 8 a.m., Tot Trot (ages 1 to 5) 9 a.m., Youth Dash (ages 6 to 9) 9:15 a.m., 5-mile (any age) at 9:30 a.m., 2-mile (any age) at 9:45 a.m., Terrace Plaza, Highway 26 and Vista Del Lago Drive, Valley Springs, the Toyon Middle School Relay for Life Team stages a run/walk for fun and prizes; Tot Trot is free, Youth Dash is $5, 2- and 5-mile are $10 at the school, or mail to dustyn, 6739 Pollock Court, Valley Springs, CA 95252; call dustyn at 754-4256 ext. 4222 or 772-3399 for more information; proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
09:00 AM Lifeguard Certifcation Course
Starts Jan. 30, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (one-hour lunch break), Calaveras High School, 350 High School St., 40 hour course taught in five eight-hour sessions on subsequent Saturdays (Feb. 6, 13, 20,27 and March 6), students must complete all sessions to receive Red Cross certification; $200 per person must be received by Jan. 25, call Leanne Sparvel at 754-5036 or e-mail to leannesparvel@yahoo.com.
10:00 AM 13th Annual Spring Obsession
It is our 13th Annual Spring Obsession, a celebration of the wine, Symphony "Obsession", with art, food and daffodils.

Throughout the 2 days, stroll through our music room and view all of the marvelous pieces of art entered into our annual art competition. These unique paintings are on sale to the public.

A theme division, which this year focused on a "A Spring Obsession," were artists have their painting competing to become the annual poster, sold through our Jewelry Shoppe

March 6, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Murphys Volunteer Library, Murphys Park, Murphys, book sale including videos and audio cassettes, bring a Sierra Hills grocery receipt and receive a free book, $10 will buy a bag of books of your choice, cash donations appreciated; for more information call Chris Sellman or Ninfa Wood at 728-3036.

Ironstone's annual art competition has captured the talents of many talented artists from around the world.

Enjoy an early evening reception, hors d'oeuvres paired with wine, and the artists who participated in the show, will be in attendance to talk about their art.
