07:00 PM Actor & Author, Mike Farrell Book Signing
Actor and author Mike Farrell will be in Mokelumne Hill Saturday, Aug. 7, to sign copies of his book “Of Mule and Man.”

In May 2008, Farrell drove himself across the country on a book tour during which he networked with political groups and friends such as Joseph Wilson and Valerie Plame. Departing his hometown of Los Angeles in a rental Prius that he nicknamed “Mule,” Farrell drove across the country and back. In addition to his musings, “Of Mule and Man” includes statements from some of the political groups that co-sponsored his tour, including Death Penalty Focus, the American Civil Liberties Union, Greenpeace, Human Rights Watch and more.

Best known for his eight years on “M*A*S*H” and five seasons on “Providence,” Farrell is also a writer, director and producer. He has served on human rights and peace delegations to many countries. His first book, “Just Call Me Mike,” was a Los Angeles Time best seller.

“Mike Farrell's 'Of Mule and Man' is a one-of-a-kind American road trip,” said Walter Mosley, author of “The Tempest Tales.” “Farrell travels through both the beautiful and busted landscape, from desert to bayou, urban to rural, listening in and arguing silently with conservative talk radio found in even the most remote places, and ending each day at bookstores and community organizations to have conversations with activists, friends and family whoa re doing the hard work of social justice in every neighborhood.”

Farrell will sign copies of his book beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Hotel Leger, 8304 Main St., Mokelumne Hill. The event is sponsored by the Calaveras Democrats. For more information visit calaverasdemocrats.org.
