11:00 AM Independece Hall Quilters Welcome Back Fall Luncheon
The Independence Hall Quilters will hold a Welcome Back Fall luncheon Monday, Sept. 13. at Independence Hall, 1445 Blagen Road, Arnold. Announcements will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a potluck luncheon at noon.

Members have been busy making comfort quilts that will be donated to Child Protective Services for area youth with catastrophic illness or accidents and Shriners Hospital for children undergoing treatment, surgery or therapy. The guild also provides comfort quilts for the Ebbetts Pass Fire Districts post-trauma kits.

Meetings are held at 9 a.m. every Monday at Independence Hall. The hall remains open for quilters through early afternoon. For more information call 795-1464, e-mail ihqquilters@gmail.com or visit independencehallquilters.com.
The guild will hold its annual Quilt Faire Oct. 22 through 24 at Ironstone Vineyards, 1894 Six Mile Road, Murphys. Numerous quilts, wall hangings, wearable art, handmade dolls and needle art will be on display.

The fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 22 and 23 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 24. Admission is $7 at the door.

Visitors will have a chance to vote for their favorite quilts, attend demonstrations, win door prizes, browse vendor booths and shop at the Boutique and Country Store. The boutique will again be filled with an array of handmade articles, including quilts, table linens, holiday decorations and gift items. The Country Store will have homemade baked goods, each wrapped in its own dish.

Visitors may also purchase tickets to win the Scholarship Quilt and various prizes. The drawing will be held Sunday; winners do not need to be present.

The Independence Hall Quilters use proceeds from the annual Quilt Faire to contribute throughout the year to the Calaveras County Resource Connection, including the Women’s Crisis Center and Child Protective Services, and to Shriners Hospitals, scholarships for Bret Harte High School students, area schools, parks, libraries and other community organizations.
