All Day Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival
12th Annual Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival will be held August 13-15. Join us for a loaded-with-ragtime, musical fun-filled weekend featuring a silent movie night with Frederick Hodges & Keith Taylor, two gala festival concerts with our headliners, a Future of Ragtime concert featuring youth performers and 5 practically nonstop venues to choose from all weekend long. All events badges which include both concerts and the silent movies are $70. Youths 16 and under attend free with a paying adult. Day badges and individual concert tickets will also be available. SUNDAY, AUGUST 15 – 2 p.m. – Bear Valley Music Festival – Closing Concert. The Bear Valley Music Festival will bring its seventeen-day celebration to a close with a 2 p.m. program that includes Dmitri Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto in A minor, featuring a remarkable 14-year-old violinist, Stephen Kim, and Jean Sibelius’ powerful Symphony No. 2 in D major. The Bear Valley Festival Orchestra, under the direction of Carter Nice, is composed of more than 60 professional musicians from all over North America. Tickets for the final performance of the season range from $20 to $40 and may be purchased by calling (800) 458-1618 or visiting the festival website, www.bearvalleymusic.org. The Bear Valley Music Festival is in its 42nd year of bringing beautiful music to the Sierras. Bear Valley is located off California State Highway 4 on the Ebbetts Pass Corridor in Alpine County.
