34th Annual Columbia Wine Tasting

AN AFTERNOON OF FINE WINE AND CULINARY DELIGHTS


More than 60 of California’s premier wineries have now signed up to participate in the 34th Annual Columbia Wine Tasting on Sunday, April 18th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Along with the wineries, several popular food vendors – including the Columbia College culinary arts students – will also be featured. During the event, guests can sample wines and hors d’oeuvres at numerous tasting stations located throughout Columbia State Historic Park, a historic gold rush mining town.



Sponsored by the Columbia College Foundation, proceeds from the tasting will benefit the Columbia College Culinary Arts Program. Funds will be used for student scholarships and educational equipment and materials for the department.



Admittance to this première event is just $45 per person. Reservations can be made by visiting www.gocolumbia.edu/foundation or by calling 209.588.5089. Due to the popularity of the event, it is highly recommended that reservations are made in advance.

Food will be prepared and served by Calaveras Olive Oil, Diestel Turkey Ranch, Fiscalini Cheese Company, Seven Sisters Restaurant, and Columbia College Culinary Arts students.



A silent auction will offer unique and exciting goods and services to choose from, including food and wine-themed gift baskets, private wine tastings and dinner party certificates, and of course - numerous specialty wines.



"Last year, more than 500 attendees joined us for the wine tasting," said Gene Womble, Columbia College instructor and coordinator of the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Program. “We appreciate the support this lends to our students, and encourage folks to come out and enjoy a wonderful afternoon in downtown Columbia. If you love wine or consider yourself a “foodie,” this event is for you!”
