World class dealers will offer great values on top quality gems, minerals, jewelry, beads, fossils, petrified wood, fluorescents, meteorites, lapidary material, equipment, books and supplies and service.
Talented demonstrators will show how lapidary and jewelry items are made.
Outstanding case displays will feature fine mineral, lapidary and jewelry by members and guest exhibitors.
Fun and interesting activities for children. Door Prizes! Raffle! Snack Bar!
Our silent auction will have a wide variety of rocks and minerals.

10:00 AM Open Garden Day
March 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Demonstration Garden, Government Center, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, Calaveras County Master Gardeners hold a plant sale and discuss “Waking Up Your Beds” (at 10:30 a.m.), concentrating on composting, mulching and drip irrigation, provide tours of the garden and answer home gardening questions; free, 754-6477.
10:00 AM Annual Gem & Jewelry Show
March 27 and 28, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Calaveras County Fairgrounds, Gun Club Road (off Highway 49), Angels Camp, kid's area, exhibit cases, demonstrations, snack bar, silent auction, door prizes, raffle and vendors, supplies such as beads, tools, minerals, meteorites, fossils, gems, rocks and jewelry will also be available; $4 for admission, children 12 and under are free, parking and shuttle service are free, for more information call Tak Iwata at 928-5579 or visit calaverasgemandmineral.org.
11:00 AM - 01:00 PM WINTER ADVENTURES PROGRAM
Visit your snow park, meet the Nordic ski patrol and learn the basics for backcountry snow travel with safety!

Lake Alpine Snow Park, located on Highway 4, three miles east of Bear Valley at the gate closed for winter. You will need a parking permit. A 1 day permit is available for $5 at the Bear Valley cross country center.

Bring Nordic skis or snowshoes for a half to 1 hour hike following the program. Don’t forget your poles and a water bottle.

12:00 PM Columbia State Park Birthday Party
March 27, day events from noon to 4 p.m., evening at 6:30 p.m., live reenactment of the 1850 discovery of gold, speech from the museum steps, birthday cake and venues throughout the town staffed with costumed docents, an old fashioned birthday party in the evening; day events are free, evening party will be $15 per ticket, $10 for Friends of Columbia State Historic Park members, contact Bob Lippert at 533-4117.

Nothing like spring in mountains!! Enjoy the slopes then head out to the sundeck to taste some of the best wines in California as several local wineries join us slopeside for some cool jazz, wine and sun (conditions permitting). And what goes better with a glass of the finest reds and coolest whites? How about the RedSkunk Jipzee Band.

This group of young central coast musicians put together a surprisingly mature sound that draws from Django Reinhardt,’ 30s European jazz and American roots traditions. These talented players are fresh, spontaneous, spunky and exceedingly entertaining. With two CD’s already available and several large festival bookings, this band is looking forward to spreading their unique brand of how swing a whole new audience. Come join in the fun.
