Nudes and Trees to be Focus of Next Exhibit at Gallery Calaveras
4:00 to 6:00 pm
Location: Gallery Calaveras 22 Main Street in San Andreas
"Nude by Nature" and "Spirit of the Forest" are dual themes that will be blended into the exhibit which is opening in Gallery Calaveras in San Andreas on April 30. Many local artists of the Gallery Group of the Calaveras Arts Council have been having fun creating their new works for this exhibit. Some are painters, some are ceramic artists, and still others are photographers. They are all imaginative, and a truly interesting display is promised for this unique exhibit which will run through June 21.
An open-to-the-public Reception will kick off the show on Friday, April 30, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Come as a tree, but don't come nude. Exclusive to this reception: you may end up winning the painting called Birdhouse, donated by artist Jane Brown through an opportunity drawing.
The not-for-profit Calaveras Arts Council operates the Gallery Calaveras from 22 Main Street in San Andreas.
Hours are weekdays, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturdays, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. The gallery offers free parking both in front and in back and is handicapped accessible. The next exhibit, "The Traveler - Places I've Been" will open on June 25 and run for four weeks. For more information, phone the Calaveras Arts Council at (209)754-1774 or visit www.calaverasarts.org.
