Come join Ranger Cindy for a hike to the New Melones Dam Overlook. This is a moderate-to-strenuous hike, 3 miles roundtrip, with a steady 1/2 mile climb to the overlook. Meet at the Peoria Wildlife Equestrian Staging Area on Peoria Flat Road at 10am or meet the ranger at the New Melones Lake Visitor Center at 9am and follow the caravan. Hikes are weather permitting and free of charge. For more information call 209-536-9543.

Memorial Day Weekend Event Day time Schedual....Jr. Rangers: 10:00am Saturday (Habitat) & Sunday (Bears) for 7 - 12 year old children. Jr. Cubs: 10:00am Saturday (Coyote) & Sunday (Forest Soup) for 3 - 6 year old children with an Adult. Both are one hour and meet behind the Visitor Center. Meadow Guided Tour: 11:30...am Sunday only. North Grove Guided Tour: 1:00pm Saturday & Sunday. Both tours meet at the VC.
