Volunteering at Calaveras Big Trees is a great way to help the park in these tough budget times, a great way to get outdoors, and a great way to help support the economy of Calaveras County. Calaveras Big Trees State Park Hosts New Docent Orientation Classes on (This training is mandatory for all new park volunteers.) Tuesday, March 8 from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. and Sunday, April 16 from 12:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.

Volunteers play an important role in caring for this very special park.
There are a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available to match each person’s interests, skills, and background, including:
• trail patrol
• greeting people in the Visitor Center
• leading tours and children’s programs
• trail maintenance
• operating the Warming Hut
• leading snowshoe tours
• and much more…
Active volunteers receive free training and use of the park, and can earn passes to other CA State Parks.
