On Saturday, May 7th, the Angels Camp Museum will be hosting a special Gold Rush Day and Miner’s Heritage event from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM. The event and museum is FREE to the visiting public this one day only. The event celebrates the gold rush history of the region. Regular programs will include 1840s gold rush era living historians doing demonstrations and talks on early miners and gold panning, a Civil War soldier program that includes musket firing demonstrations, and other regular .....
programs. Additional activities will include gold panning, a frog jump, games, and artisans and craftsmen such as a blacksmith and textile demonstrations. A scavenger hunt for kids will also be included. Food, drinks, and spirits will be for sale on site.

• 10:30 AM: Hard Luck Lin presentation – Upper Knoll Presentation area
• 11:00 AM: Civil War soldier program & musket firing (living historian) -lower outdoor seating area)
• 11:00 AM: Lecture on the material culture of the miners of the late 1840s and early 1850s–Chandra Miller (Female civilian living historian) – Upper knoll presentation area
• 12:00 PM: Gold Rush Miner’s Program (living historians) -lower outdoor seating area
• 12:30 PM: Hard Luck Lin presentation – Upper Knoll Presentation area
• 1:00 PM: Civil War soldier program & musket firing ( living historian) -lower outdoor seating area)
• 1:30 PM: Frog Jump Competition! – Stamp Mill Area
• 2:00 PM: Gold Rush Miner’s Program (living historians) – lower outdoor seating area
• 2:00 PM: Lecture on the food ways of the miners of the late 1840s and early 1850s–Chandra Miller (Female civilian living historian) – Carriage House
• 2:30 PM: Hard Luck Lin presentation – Upper Knoll Presentation area

Additional craftsman & artisans will be performing demonstrations throughout the day
• Children’s activities such as a salami toss, coin-in-the-hay-search, scavenger hunt, and gold panning will be on-going throughout the day
• Hot Dogs, Kettle Korn made on-site, drinks, and spirits (beer and wine) will be available for purchase all day. |
