One-Day ServSafe Certification Class
One-Day ServSafe Certification Class Offered

Sonora, CA....The Business Alliance of Tuolumne County is offering a one-day ServSafe Certification Class for food handlers and owners of all food service facilities in Tuolumne, Calaveras, and Mariposa Counties. A ServSafe exam will be given, and a certificate issued for all attendees who participate in the class and pass the test. ServSafe will be held on March 14, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Best Western Sonora Oaks Conference Center located at 19551 Hess Avenue, Sonora, California. Register by the March 11, 2011 deadline by calling the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce at (209) 532-4212 or log on to www.tcchamber.com. The cost is $150.00 per person. Seating is limited.
Is your restaurant or food facility in compliance with State food safety regulations and who needs a ServSafe Certificate? Here are the facts: “Each food facility shall have an owner or employee who has successfully passed an approved and accredited food safety certification examination.... The certified owner or employee need not be present at the food facility during all hours of operation.” (CA Health & Safety Code Sec. 113700-113733). Senate Bill 602 requires, food handler who is involved in the preparation, storage or service of food in a food facility has to have a valid food safety certificate (temporary food facilities are exempt and DO NOT require a food card). Effective June 11, 2011.” Renewal of a ServSafe Certification for food handlers and owners is required every 5 years.

Instructor Tom Bruce, a renowned restaurant consultant and educator serving the hospitality industry for over 35 years, will teach this all-day class. Bruce is sponsored by the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

The Business Alliance of Tuolumne County offers free business consultants, as well as ongoing business trainings and workshops on topics such as Customer Service and Customer Relations, Facebook for Business, Technology Classes, a 12-week NxLevel Series for Entrepreneurs, and SCORE workshops on how to write a business plan, and more…To receive information on upcoming classes, contact Beth Hartline at (209) 989-4058 or by email at beth.hartline@tceda.net.
