For its last indoor Free First Fridays concert of the season, AmadorArts will present the trio, Wicked Sisters on May 6, starting at 6:00 pm in Teresa’s Place Banquet Room in Jackson. Three friends and teachers by day, quality musicians by night, The Wicked Sisters, all from Amador County, perform a variety of music styles, from acoustic blues and rock, and folk favorites of your past to original songs that you’ll want to hear again and again. Food, like pizza, salads, calzones; and beverages, both non-alcoholic and otherwise, will be available for purchase right there in Teresa’s Banquet Room, where you’ll be enjoying the great music and harmonies of this fun-loving trio.
The first “sister” is Kevin Wever who plays guitar and percussion and is the group’s main songwriter. Anne Jeffries enjoys experimenting with vocal harmonies and plays percussion, flute, and even kazoo. Lynn Vasquez adds her mandolin and her delicate, melodic guitar picking to the music. There’s an honorary “sister.” He’s Mike Hewitt, bass player, who adds a grounding quality to the group’s sound.
The popular Free First Fridays events put on by AmadorArts, a non-profit, public benefit organization, have been popular this winter, despite the weather. Now, AmadorArts will start to gear up for its annual summertime TGIF music series. For nine Fridays, each one at a different pubic venue, a variety of free music will be presented. Visit www.amadorarts.org for the complete schedule.
The May 6 concert will end at 8:00 pm. Address is Teresa’s Place, at 1235 Jackson Gate Rd., Jackson. If more info is needed, leave a message at (209) 223-9038. |
