Angels Camp, CA...The Spring Showcase Fundraiser for the Studio 4 Dance Theater begins this evening and runs through Saturday, May 6th and 7th at Bret Harte Theatre. This dance company always puts on a well run and well rehearsed show that makes for a wonderful family night out. The December performance of the Nutcracker is always a favorite so this is a must see show. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the shows start at 7:00p.m.. Ticket prices are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased at Family 4 Fitness on Hwy 4 and also at Jillian's day spa in downtown Murphys. At the Saturdays performance we will be raffling off 2 reserved seats with buffet to winners choice of an Ironstone Concert. This is our grand prize item. We have 2 "door prizes" that will be raffled afterwards which are a 3 month Family membership to Family 4 Fitness and a case of Newsome-Harlow wine. All Raffle tickets are being sold for $10 a piece. There will be a table advertising this at Sierra Hills Market on April 30th and May 1st where tickets may be purchased. Also, look for their annual car wash in July.
Studio 4 Dance Theater is a theatrical dance company based in Calaveras County and located at the Family 4 Fitness Center in Vallecito, California. Founded in 2008 by Tammie Lee, the company presents a full-scale original production each year of the Nutcracker, and appears locally at various events. Studio 4 Dance Theater is the resident dance company of Studio 4 School of Dance.
The Theatre’s goal is to train and educate students in the disciplined art of dance and to educate and develop the future audience for dance throughout Calaveras County.
The Dance Theater performs at different functions throughout Calaveras county during the year. The Nutcracter made its world premier December 18, 1892 at the Maryinsky Theater in St Petersbury, Russia with choreography by Petipa/Ivanov, music by Tchaikovsky and decor by Botcharov. The Nutcracker has been awing audiences young and old for over a hundred years. The Studio 4 Dance Theater performs the classic Nutcracker Ballet each year during the holiday season at the Bret Harte Theater in Angles Camp.
We have expanded our performances to twice a year with the new Spring Showcases that will premier this spring at the Bret Harte Theather on May 6 and May 7, 2011. New choreographed works have been created and will be performed by the Studio 4 Dance Theater.
