THE TIGER FEST
The friends of Rail Road Flat School are at in again. Once again the school is back on the chopping block facing closure. The Second Annual Tiger Fest well is held on Saturday, September 17th 2011. This year our fundraising efforts are geared towards enhancing the learning experience of the children while supporting the slim staff. We are excited about an upcoming enrichment program that will bring music, arts, sports, gardening, landscaping as well as school improvement projects. This program was originally set to be funded by a federal government SERS program which was just recently cut.
The Tiger Fest will be a “fair style event” held on the school grounds with a wide range of activities, demonstrations, snack bar, vendor booths, bake sale, arts and crafts, water play, dunk tank, 50/50 raffle, chili cook off, car show, and much more. The evening will fallow with an exotic dinner, live music, no-host bar, and silent auction at the town hall.
We are looking for any kid friendly vendors interested in having a booth. As well as any community organization interested in coming and sharing information. Or even an individual who would like to provide a free project or activity for children. We are looking for any musicians interested in playing throughout the day.
We are also looking for volunteers to help at various stations and booths during the day and evening. Any donations towards the silent auction are greatly appreciated we welcome new items, hand made items, services, gift certificates, etc….. Cash donations are also greatly appreciated and tax deductible.
