Get Ready For Derby Season & New Melones Fishing Report for January 26th~by Glory Hole Sports

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/29/2015 08:08 AM
Angels Camp, CA...Tournament season is around the corner. Last year we saw a World Record Fish caught in February and are hoping for another one this year. Here are a couple February tournaments that could produce some giants and should be a lot of fun to fish. 100 Plus Bass Tournaments is coming to New Melones February 7th and 8th (two separate tournaments). This organization has an excellent payback percentage. They recently had a tournament on Pine Flat, 13-boats, first place took home $1350.00, and it's only a $180.00 entry fee. Let's help them draw more boats and see some big money get paid-out. Tell all your friends and come out and fish the next event on New Melones.

Glory Hole Sports Big Fish of the Week goes to Doug Mote of Riverbank. He landed a giant 14.70-pound catfish while fishing on a drop-shot rig while targeting bass.

Niko Coromelas of Rancho Cordova landed a 12.09-pound catfish. He caught it on a nightcrawler while fishing near the 49-bridge.

Calaveras County, CA...Imagine buying a home for $35,000 in California. Not likely, you’re probably thinking. Not that long ago, in 1970, that’s the price Ken Plourde, a 79-year-old retired jazz bass player, paid for his 992 square foot home in Palo Alto. Since it’s within walking distance from Stanford University, it’s not so surprising that when Plourde decided to sell his home it was snapped up by a Stanford graduate in China for $3 million. A tidy sum for his nest egg, wouldn’t you say? Your Biggest Investment and Nest Egg...

The RAID System is dying on this machine and we were starting to risk data loss. We have migrated almost 800gb of data to the new machines or uploaded archive video youtube. Over 3,000 videos have been pushed up to youtube that cover everything from football games to board of supervisor videos from 2006-2011. While we did full backups we kept new posts to a minimum. While we bring the new server up over the next few days you will probably see some glitches such as photos missing one day and then showing back up the next day. As always we thank you for your visits and our normal news volume will return this week.

So far this season, influenza A H3N2 viruses have been most common. For comparison, in the 2012-2013, 2007-2008, and 2003-2004 seasons H3N2 strains predominated and had the highest seasonal mortality levels of the past decade. Roughly half of the season’s H3N2 viruses that have been analyzed are ‘drifted’ with antigenic differences from this season’s vaccine H3N2 virus. The vaccine’s ability to prevent infection with drifted H3N2 virus may be diminished....
