President Obama Announces New Investments to Enhance Safety and Security in the Changing Arctic

Posted by: thepinetree on 09/01/2015 08:41 AM
Anchorage, AK...The following is a White House position paper..."Climate change is reshaping the Arctic in profound ways. The global Arctic has warmed approximately twice as fast as the rest of the world, resulting in significant impacts on land and sea. Among the most noticeable changes is the retreat of Arctic sea ice, which has experienced significant, sustained declines in both extent and thickness in recent decades. This past February, the Arctic sea-ice maximum reached an all-time record low: about 1.1 million square kilometers – an area more than twice the size of California – below average. As sea-ice cover diminishes because of climate change, marine traffic is expected to increase in the Arctic, including traffic from fishing and mineral exploration to cargo shipping and tourism..

SNAC State of the Lakes Address! Make Your Labor Day Plans Today!

Posted by: thepinetree on 08/31/2015 10:54 AM
Arnold, CA...Wow, have we been blessed this summer here in the Central Sierra! No fires, no heat waves and multiple pristine lakes with plenty of water. Our beautiful, local lake, White Pines is still awesome, even though it's dropped a couple feet below the boat ramp. Paddleboarders, keep toward the beach end of the lake to protect your skegs. Lake Alpine, Utica & Union are spectacular as usual and only down a few feet from maximum. The fishing's been great at Spicer! Even though Spicer never filled this Spring, and the water line is 200-300 feet from the bottom of the ramp, it's still a massive body of water with a dramatic shoreline. We have plenty of water in our lakes and lots of options for for everyone to enjoy Labor Day weekend and beyond! This may be hard to believe, but it's true!

Malibu Two
Make your Kayak, Canoe or SUP Reservations, now for Labor Day Weekend! If you haven't tried stand-up paddling yet this summer, it's not too late! Our SUP department this year was off-the-hook! So come in to rent or if you're already hooked, come talk to us about our blowout prices on SUPs!

Not only because Alaska is one of the most beautiful places in a country that’s full of beautiful places – but because I’ll have several opportunities to meet with everyday Alaskans about what’s going on in their lives. I’ll travel throughout the state, meeting with Alaskans who live above the Arctic Circle, with Alaska natives, and with folks who earn their livelihoods through fishing and tourism. And I expect to learn a lot.

It's no secret that health-care delivery is changing, and those changes are reflected in the financial issues that health-care professionals face every day. You must continually educate yourself about new research in your chosen specialty, stay current on the latest technology that is transforming health care, and pay attention to business considerations, including ever-changing state and federal insurance regulations.

Much like medicine, the field of finance has been the subject of much scientific research and data, and should be approached with the same level of discipline and thoughtfulness.
