College Offers Fitness, Well-Being and Recreation Classes
If becoming more fit is one of your goals for 2009 or you are inspired by Dancing with the Stars, the Columbia College Community Education program has a variety of fitness, well-being and recreation classes to help you achieve your goal. Many different forms of movement and exercise are scheduled plus dance and cross country skiing. Start dates and locations are....
Jan. 22---T’ai Chi Ch’uan in Tuolumne with Michael Irwin and Cross Country Skiing at Bear Valley
Jan. 27---Kriya Yoga in Sonora with Diane Swanson; Nia---The Body’s Way on campus with Marguerite Close; Capoeira (a playful Brazilian martial art) at the Tuolumne County Senior Center with Darca Morgan
Feb. 23---Yoga basics in Twain Harte with Shelby Jorgenson
March 4---More ballroom and more swing dancing on campus with Ilene and Jim Tassano
March 9---Line dancing on campus with Gloria Lucas and Dawn Berry

Jan. 23---Skin & Body Care Nutrition on campus with Kathy DiGiacomo
March 12---Homeopathy at Home at the Calaveras Center with Gloria St. John
Details about the classes are available on line at www.gocolumbia.edu (click on Community Education) or in the Spring Schedule of Classes which is available at branch libraries and other community locations.
Registration deadlines are a week before each class begins, but call the Community Education Office at 588-5144 to see if a minimum enrollment has been reached and there is space for additional students.
Interested persons may register in person on campus or at the Calaveras Center (736-5941 for hours), by mail or fax with a registration form or online. Registration forms may be downloaded from the web page and are included in the Spring 09 Schedule of Classes on page 111.
