The Calaveras Winegrape Alliance Invites the Public to "President's Wine Weekend" This Weekend!
The Calaveras Winegrape Alliance would like to invite the public to join us in celebrating President’s Wine Weekend at our 25 member winery tasting rooms located throughout Calaveras County on February 14 & 15, 2009! Participants will enjoy special barrel tastings, new wine releases, and an array of delicious palate pleasing foods! "Abraham Lincoln" and "George Washington" will be out and about visiting many of the wineries, so come on out and join us, meet some of our great winemakers, make new friends and raise your glass in toast to the people who helped make this country great!....
The cost of admission to participate in this event is the $10.00 purchase of a CWA logo wine glass (available at any of your favorite tasting rooms). The event will take place rain or shine! Designated drivers are encouraged and will receive complimentary non-alcoholic beverages. Participants must be at least 21 years of age.

Chatom Vineyards will boast an “All-American Theme” filled with red-white-blue décor, and an All-American menu! Chatom will offer incredible wine promotions and specials just for this weekend event.
Lavender Ridge Vineyard will be Featuring Charlie and Judy Creighton from the Cheese School of San Francisco serving and educating tasters with artisan cheese samples paired with other select gourmet picnic faire.
Tanner Vineyards will bring you their own custom ranch raised chèvre, salad and Italian bread.
Hatcher Winery will be serving their traditional Memphis Pulled Pork BBQ and famous potato salad.
Beaux Chevaux Tasting Gallery will gallop into President’s Weekend by offering a barrel tasting of an upcoming release. There will a delectable pairing of mom’s old fashioned comfort food with our wines. Live music provided by local guitarist/vocalist Jim Lanier. Come view our featured artist of the month, Lyda Taylor.
Solomon Wines celebrates with a Good Old American farm theme presenting participants with pork rinds, corn mush pie, and mud puddle cookies while offering the most American of wines – Zinfandel (and from the oldest Zinfandel vineyard in America) and you have the makings for an American weekend in the heart of the California Gold Rush.
Zucca Mountain Vineyards is serving their Cheese and Chocolate fondue along with other chocolate goodies paired with their wines, in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
Join Newsome-Harlow for President’s Wine Weekend to taste some of the premier wines in Calaveras County. They will also pour barrel samples of three single vineyard Zinfandels and serve palate pleasers, prepared by their very own chef, Melanie Klann.
Renner Winery is offering barrel samples of upcoming releases, special discounts on wine and Valentine Gift Baskets, and will offer up world-famous Lockeford sausages. We will also offer BBQ Bratwursts and Sausages, and have Special Wine Discounts. There will be a sampling of gourmet chocolate ! Special event hours: Friday 12 Noon to 7 PM & Sat 10AM to 7 PM.
Vina Moda Winery is serving Very Red Beets Soup with White Sour Cream and Blue Napkins to wipe your lips, tantalizingly glazed Chicken Wings and Blueberries Brownies.
Frog’s Tooth will showcase an American theme with live music.
Twisted Oak Winery celebrates Valentine's Day and President's Day together with "Presidents in Lust". We'll be offering suitably lustful, yet totally presidential, chocolate treats - and the Twisted Presidents will once again be paying a visit! And on Saturday night we will be holding our annual Twisted Presidents Dinner at the Winery, featuring presidential favorites paired with historical wine selections from our library.
Broll Mountain Vineyards will have special discounts on ALL wine as well as special discounts on ALL items at the Tasting Room. In addition they will serve homemade brownies to compliment their red wines.
