Update on Tulare County Lightning Fires.....60% Contained

Tulare County, CA....The Tulare Lightning Fires are totaling 400+ acres and are now 60% contained. The Tulare Unit Lightning Complex has been broken up into 2 complexes, the North Complex and the South Complex. The North Complex consists of 3 fires, 2 acres each in size. Two are located within a few hundred yards of each other approximately 6 miles east of the community of Lindsay in the Round Valley area. The third fire (Boyd Incident) is located approximately 10 miles north of the community of Woodlake and 2 miles east of State Highway 245 on Blue Mountain. All resource have been released.....


The South Complex consists of approximately 16 fires totaling 400 acres. The Konda Fire, located on the Konda Ranch near Gibbon Peak in remote southeastern Tulare County is 70 acres and 100% contained. An additional fire (Potholes Incident) was also located in the same general area and is 4 acres.

A new fire (Gibbon Peak) was first reported at 10:00 pm on 5/29. Location is the Gibbon Peak area which is a very remote area due south of the Tule Indian Reservation. This fire is 25 acres and 30% contained. All other fires in the complex continued to be patrolled and continue mop-up.
