IMBA Is Coming To Town....Subaru-sponsored International Mountain Biking Association Trail Construction Team meets the Arnold Rim Trail

The Arnold Rim Trail is in the news again with another event sure to inform and inspire. The Arnold Rim Trail Association (ARTA) is pleased to announce the arrival of one of America's top-billed trail construction and multi-user etiquette training teams sponsored by the Subaru Corporation. The International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) has been noted for its high quality community education programs founded on its mission to serve those who want to recreate responsibly on the highest quality trails on public and other lands. On October 16-18, Friday through Sunday, ARTA will host ......

IMBA's Economic Development and Trail building Techniques educational presentations at Avery Middle School in Avery, survey sections of trail most amenable to volunteer development and enhancement, construct portions of a high quality trail that will benefit hikers, bikers and equestrians and then wrap up with hikes and rides in an along the area of the Arnold Rim Trail in the Stanislaus National Forest.

ARTA Event Organizer Tyler Summersett said, "We are riding high on the success of our September 12 introduction of the ART to many dozens of people as part of the Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway Celebration and want to keep up the momentum with our growing sense of community pride in our local public lands and all they provide us. We see the IMBA event as another way to make sure we do things right the first time as we continue to tie old trail segments together into a continuous multi-user trail through the Stanislaus National Forest and beyond to the larger dream of an actual "rim trail."

We'll also be tapping IMBA's genious in developing sustainable recreational opportunities that have assist in growing the tourism industry in other locations."

Steve Lauterbach, ARTA Secretary, enthusiastically recommends IMBA as one of the premier groups out there today helping communities develop trails responsibly to avoid conflicts over different non-motorized uses.

"I have personally participated in these workshops in another region where I recreate. I can say without reservation, you will gain an even greater appreciation for what can be done on the ground with people enthusiastic about working together for a common purpose, the construction of the best quality trails for users and the habitat they travel through."
