This Week on Table Hopping..."Greetings From El Jardin in Murphys!"~by Jenny Baxter of Jennys Kitchen

Greetings from El Jardin in Murphy’s......I wanted to meet my out of town friends, Greg and Brenda, for dinner somewhere besides the heart of Murphy’s on the eve of Grape Stomp. I decided on El Jardin. I asked my friend, Tad Folendorf, to join us because I knew his personality would fit this circle of friends.. We did not arrive until after 8. The hostess was most pleasant and assured us our table would be ready in 15 minutes, which it was. Our server was prompt on coming to our table to take our orders, making .....

sure our water glasses were full the entire time we dined and in bringing us chips and salsa. Each of us ordered a different item from the menu. Greg ordered the Carne Asada, Brenda chose the burrito, Tad went with the chicken enchilada and I requested the evening’s special, chicken mole. Our wait time was very reasonable considering it was a Friday night and Murphy’s was beginning to fill up with out-of-towners. The presentation was colorful and the rice was arranged on a slant separating the beans from the chicken instead of the usual scoop on the plate. My other friends said their meals were fine. I will say the price was right and the service good. Will I eat at El Jardin again.? Of course! Their food is wonderful which I have always found to be tasty. Well, it’s thyme to go.
