Attic Fire Displaces Family in Copperopolis This Morning
Copperopolis, CA...Crews responded to what was called a smoldering fire in the attic of a residence in Copperopolis this morning. The call came in shortly after 3 am according to San Andreas Dispatch. We spoke with Captain Jason Robitaille from Copperopolis Fire Protection District who's engine was first on scene. When they arrived there was smoke showing from the roof of the single story home. The the cause was determined to be an electrical fire in the attic. There were 8 people living in the home including the family and elderly parents...
and all of the residents safely escaped the fire.
Captain Robitaille put the damage estimates at $25,000 or so. Red Cross did come out and help the family who was displaced by the fire.
If you would like to help out with their needs since it is just before Christmas you can give the Local Red Cross Office a call at (209) 533-1513.
