Recap of Wednesday Evening's CCOG Meeting

Calaveras Conty, CA.....The Calaveras Council of Governments held their monthly meeting on Wednesday March 3rd, 2010. Here is a recap of the meeting: Public member David Woods was absent which meant George Fry Jr [alternate] sat in for him. The 2010/11 overall work program was approved 6-1. Extensive conversation regarding the change in reserve policy which freed up additional funding for county projects. It was discussed that the issue was handled incorrectly and that we should have procedures to handle such matters. The operating budget for 2010/11 was approved 7-0 Very little discussion......
.

An application for Rural Regional Blue Print planning funds was approved 7-0. Much discussion on the role of the COG and their plan to hold public meetings when both the City and County were in the General Plan update phases . It was feared that the CCOG would be confusing the issue and the people of the county. It was agreed that the CCOG would meet with groups in settings that included either the City Council or the Board of Supervisors. This was to eliminate the confusion that the council feared.

Those were the big ticket items of the meeting. The only other point of interest was the discussion regarding the CCOG policies and procedures manual that is being established.

Overall it was a good meeting with lively debate.
