Jumpers on the Go!~by Laurie Gianini
Angels Camp, CA.....The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee’s Frog Jump Committee, affectionately known as the “Frog Wranglers” is taking the Frogs and the notorious event on the road this month. It seems Old Sacramento and Angels Camp has frog fever even in the month of August. The Wranglers will be hosting a Frog Jump in Old Sacramento on Friday August 27. Along with the Calaveras Visitors Bureau the Frog Jump will be represented at an event hosted by the SYTA called “California Dreamin”. The event offers information about field trip opportunities in California. .....
Then on August 28, the Frogs will be jumping at Fireman’s Fun Day, held annually in Utica Park. The competition times are from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. The cost to jump a Frog is $1. You can bring your own frog or jump one of the Frogtown critters which will be on hand.
Applications are now being taken for members of the community to serve on the Frog Jump Committee’s board of directors. The board currently has one vacancy. The FJC’s primary functions are to produce the annual event, preserve the history of the Frog Jump and insure the health and welfare of the frogs.
