Angels Camp Police K9 Handler and Interim Chief, Todd Fordahl Takes 1st Place at Service Dog Trial
On Friday, August 20, 2010 Angels Camp Police K9 Turner and his handler, Interim Chief Todd Fordahl, competed in a police service dog trial sanctioned by the Western States Police Canine Association. The event was hosted by the South San Francisco Police Department, and Turner and Todd competed against nineteen other police dog/handler teams from throughout Northern California. ....
The Angels Camp Police Department team of Turner and Todd Fordahl took top honors at the competition, finishing 1st place overall for the event.
Turner is a police service dog, certified and trained to detect the odors associated with illegal narcotics. What made this win even more special was that Turner had just ended a well earned week-long camping vacation on the coast, and his handler decided that the team should stop in to compete on their return trip home. Turner turned 8 years old this month, and this win shows that he is still going strong.
