Angels Camp, CA...The New Bret Harte Aquatic Center officially opened it's doors with an opening ceremony that featured speeches, acknowledgments, ribbon cuttings and more. Former Superintendent of Schools Bob Bach led the festivities in a great day for not only Bret Harte but the surrounding schools as well...

After years of living on the road the Bret Harte Swim Team will now have a state of the art center to call home.
After the speeches including those by Bret Harte Superintendent Michael Chimente and Aquatic Center Director Lauren Gerber the pool was officially opened with a ribbon cutting performed by Bret Harte Board Member and community financial fundraising dynamo Tony Tyrrell.
A good porting of the funding for this new facility came from the community passing the Measure K Bond Measure. Community members who helped spearhead that effort were acknowledged as well.
After the ribbon cutting many of the current, past and future Bret Harte swim team members had their ceremonial first swim..
The pool is also a public facility that will be open to the community for a multitude of activities.
