Dreaming Of A White Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving Bear Valley Opening?
Bear Valley, CA...Last week at their winter Bear Valley management on the record wouldn't commit to a specific day but spoke in general terms. The terms were over 2 feet of natural snow on top of the snow they had already been making. This storm should provide that and more. The wild card is wind. If this snow fall is followed by high winds that blow the snow off the ridges it will reduce their effective snow accumulation. From the looks of the Weather Reports and according to their opening parameters I bet wheels are turning Thanksgiving weekend. The high side of the snow estimates from the National Weather Service is 58 inches. The full weather forecast for Bear Valley is enclosed. The graphic below starts at Bear Valley then Arnold, Murphys and Angels Camp projections for this week...
