Santa Visits Once Upon a Time on the Square ~ By, Charity Maness

Santa and Mrs. Claus stopped their sleigh at Once Upon a Time book store in Copperopolis Town square Saturday December 4, 2010 to spread some Christmas cheer to the children of Copperopolis. Equipped with a full sack of candy bags to give to each child that visited, Santa was definitely a big hit. He also offered an ‘express’ mailbox for children to drop their letters to Santa guaranteeing an expedited delivery straight to the North Pole...

Jake Tobere brought a two sided letter to Santa explaining how he had been a good boy on one side and on the other an extensive list of wants. Santa read it carefully with a glimmer in his eye and told the young lad that he would do his very best, since he had “been such a good young man.” Santa welcomed children of all ages to share their Christmas wishes along with a few special families and one precious baby girl that got her first glimpse of Santa.

Once Upon a Time is a fantastic find snuggled into Town Square in Copperopolis. Touting itself as a bookstore and general mercantile barely scratches the surface of what lies within. Once Upon a Time offers an amazing line up of kid friendly events and happenings, from clowns to an activity center within the store. Every Thursday at 4:00 Once Upon a Time hosts Ms. Carol’s Story Hour, where she invites children to come and listen to her weave of tales sometimes accompanied by puppets. Surrounded by books, knick knacks, cd’s, candles, candies, scarves, magazines, and more, it’s a veritable treasure trove of interesting, imaginative, and informative gifts for all ages.

For more information on Once Upon a Time and the activities offered visit them on facebook at Once Upon a Time on the Square or call 785-6828.
