Izzy and Ellie Review "Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader~by Patrick Works

Angels Theater Angels Camp, CA......The Christmas movie releases are out, so this reporter packed up the family and made our way downtown to the Angels Theater to check out "Chronicles of Narnia -The Voyage of the Dawn Treader". We're a homeschool family so our rule is always read the book first. With the classic Narnia tales by CS Lewis, we never have had a problem, as children have been enjoying these stories for generations. The same can be said of these films; when the kids found out what we were going to see we got a great cheer.....

The assistant manager Chaz greeted us at the door and everyone soon had popcorn and Milk Duds in hand.

We chose the weekend matinee as our son Izzy and Daughter Ellie are still young. It seems many local families have the same idea so we were soon surrounded by a friendly crowd. Matinee choices on weekends offer the traditional 2D feature, and for this as well as so many features of late, the additional 3D version. Angels Theater offers 3D at 12:40 and 3:40, with the traditional 2D showing at 2:00 and 4:40 Saturday and Sunday. Weekdays there are matinee performances of 3D at 3:40 and the 2D version at 4:40 if your kids are still in school and you want to share this one with them during the week after school but still with plenty of time for dinner and homework. Chaz let us know current attendance is leaning heavily toward the 3D version at roughly 80% vs. 20% for the 2D.

Izzy's review: "I really liked Edmund, but wanted some of the stuff they had in the book that wouldn't fit in the movie. I'd give it an 'A'."

Ellie's review: "I love Lucy the best because she saves people and stuff. The popcorn is great. I think this movie gets an 'A+'."

Robin's (Mom's) review: I think it's wonderful the kids in this story get to be autonomous; there are no grownups bossing them around. Excellent special effects too! Definitely an 'A'."

Jeff, Chaz, and the rest of the staff at Angels Theater invite you to visit them for one of their matinee performances this Christmas season, or you can check their complete schedule by calling the theater at 736-6768, Click on Entertainment menu right here on ThePineTree.net which directs you to their site or visit the Cinemas at www.cinemawest.com/agl.html.

This reviewer also loved "Voyage of the Dawn Treader". I'd give it an 'A' as well. I'm keen on westerns so I'm really looking forward to "True Grit" with Matt Damon coming out Dec. 22nd.
