ACBA's Introduces New Calaveras County Businesses This Eve~by Patrick Works
Camps Restaurant, Greenhorn Creek, Angels Camp, CA....Tonight's meeting of the Angels Camp Business Association (ACBA) offered a chance for businesses coming to our community to introduce themselves in person. Janice Bassett, a resident of Valley Springs, has recently launched her web-based gift and fundraising business "Janice's Great Gifts and Decor" and can be found at her website www.janicesgreatgifts.com. A recent addition to the store owners in Downtown Angels Camp is Calaveras Customs. Christian Harwell has opened his doors at 1277 S. Main St., at the end of Main St. across the street from the Utica House. Mr. Harwell's .....
business offers custom imprinted designs onto a huge array of materials including stone, glass, wood, and even entire automobiles. Hoping to make a business helping others promote their businesses with branding imprints customized to individual needs, they've also been opened for visitors to Angels Camp.
Visitors from far and wide now have a place on Main St. where they can purchase a frog, a frog tee-shirt, and more specifically anything they'd like to have imprinted with "Monte" our very own Calaveras County amphibian recreational marketing mascot.
A long established business further up the hill, Bear Valley Snowmobiles, has undertaken a summer rental business to supplement their winter trade, as Motherlode Motorsports becomes one of only two vendors in the United States making the Can-Am Spyder available for rent on an hourly, daily, or weekly basis.
The Spyder is a motorcycle of sorts, but has three wheels, and thus does not require a special motorcycle driver's license by the DMV. This means that sunny weather visitors to Calaveras County have a fun and exciting travel option available to them with no hoops to jump through, and whereby they can and will truly enjoy the scenic roads and riches of the entire Motherlode area. Perhaps the most anticipated presentation of the evening was that given by Sonora Regional Hospital introducing their new urgent care clinic at the crossroads of highways 4 and 49, next door to Starbucks.
Work is nearly completed on this medical facility that seems sure to prove both convenient and fill needs as yet unmet locally. The Sonora Regional Medical Center's new operation in Angels Camp will be open seven days a week, with an emergency room trained MD on site at all times. While they are not building an emergency room as such, the ER training these doctors will be providing means that our regions urgent medical care needs will be met in the near future as has not been possible to date.
As well as the comfort of knowing the staff at the new clinic have trauma care training and experience, facilities at the new clinic include capacity to serve ongoing needs for our community that have historically required a drive to San Andreas or Sonora. The new clinic at the highway 4 and 49 crossroads will include a fully equipped xray service, as well as lab facilities for simple blood work and other diagnostic procedures we've not been able to get in Angels Camp to date. More information about Sonora Regional Medical Center and their plans for the new facility in Angels Camp should be directed to their website sonoramedicalcenter.org
