Meet Your Lovely 2011 Saddle Queen Contestants!

Frogtown, USA....Six lovely young contestants will be vying for the 2011 Calaveras Saddle Queen on May 19, 2011 at 3pm at the Frogtown Arena. The Calaveras Saddle Queen Competition has become one the Fair’s signature events. The Fair’s scholarship fund will be awarding $2,000 in scholarship funds to the top three competitors. Young women are judged on their interview skills as well their horsemanship abilities. These hard working students have an extensive preparation process in and out of the Arena. .....

The 2011 Cowgirls are Holly Zeller of Valley Springs, Melayna Campbell of Valley Springs, Ashley Gilmore of San Andreas, Natalie Harp of Burson, Jessica Conley of Valley Springs and Samantha Cobb of Murphys. The competition director is Michelle Lee and the event is coordinated by the Calaveras Saddle Club. Gold Electric sponsors the program. The competition will begin at 3 p.m. on “Heritage Day”, Thursday May 19. Miss Marilyn Sanders, the 2010 Saddle Queen will be crowning her successor. Miss Sanders and her court along with the 2011 contestants will be featured at the Whiskerino Pre-Fair Dinner Dance on April 30. The Saddle Queen Competition is one of the many arena events being featured at the 2011 Calaveras County Fair, May 19-22.
