The NCGA Jr Tour of Northern Calif Rolled Through Greenhorn Creek
Angels Camp, CA...The Weekend of October 8th and 9th had the best young Golfers in the State driving, chipping and putting their way towards the coveted goal of the lowest score. The Official Northeren California Golf Association's Fall Junior Tour event was won by Oakdale's Mabel Wong for the ladies and Hollister's Ryan Han who shot a blistering 68 on his final round....

The Girls First Flight was led by Emily Hwang, who shot an amazing round of 74 on the first day. She held a seven stroke lead on her closest competitor, Aileen Jeong, who shot on 81. Yealimi Noh found herself in third place after the first day with her 83.
The Girls First Flight was won by Emily Hwang. She used her first round 75 and her big lead as she was relentless against her competitors, posting a final round 80 and cruised to a three shot victory over second place winner Aileen Jeong. Aileen shot a very strong final round 76, and tried to chase down Emily, but just fell three shots short. Third place went to Quynn Duong, who shot another strong final round of 78. Her total of 162 left her eight shots back of Emily.
The Boys First Flight leader was Max Ringrose, who shot an incredible 75 on the first day. He was five shots ahead of Ryan Garfield, who posted an 80, and six shots ahead of John Stenovec, who shot an 81.
The Boys First Flight champion was Max Ringrose. He, too, used his large lead after the first round to cruise to another victory. Although Max didn’t play as well as he had wanted to, his final round 80 was good enough to secure the victory. Allan Silveira ended up in second place after a card off with Ryan Garfield. Although both Allan and Ryan played respectably, they simply couldn’t catch Max. Allan’s rounds of 84-77, and Ryan’s consistent play with rounds of 80-81 left them both six shots back.
The Junior Tour of Northern California would like to thank Greenhorn Creek Golf Course, its entire staff, the membership, and the NCGA volunteers for welcoming our juniors, making them feel at home, and creating a pleasant and enjoyable experience for them and their families. Members truly embraced the event, as many of them were out on the course cheering on the players, and were in awe of their abilities. All the members and the staff certainly hoped you all enjoyed yourselves.
The Junior Tour wraps up its Fall Series at Poppy Ridge next week. After that, we finish the year with our Tour Championship at Stevinson Ranch on October 29-30.
