Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Doubles its Professional Team Serving Angels Camp

SAN ANDREAS, CA – Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital (MTSJH) Interim Hospital President Patti Monczewski announced that Dr. Steven Mills, nurse practitioner Carla St. Myers, and Dr. Frederick Osborne have joined the Angels Camp Family Medical Center. “We are delighted to expand our commitment in Angels Camp,” said Monczewski, adding “Angels Camp was home to the first of our five Family Medical Centers.”...

Dr. Steven Mills received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from University of California San Diego, and his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean, British West Indies. He completed both an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Rochester and a Family Practice residency at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia. Dr. Mills joined Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital in August 2011.

Dr. Frederick Osborne received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1959 from Marquette University. He completed his doctorate in 1963 at Marquette University Medical School, now called Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Dr. Osborne has worked for Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital since 2003. “I was in private practice in the Bay Area for more than 35 years before moving to the beautiful foothills of Calaveras County.” A well known pediatrician, Dr. Osborne most recently worked in the Valley Springs Family Medical Center.

Carla St. Myers, FNP, received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from West Liberty State College and her Master of Science from West Virginia University. She is board certified by the (ANCC) American Nurses Credentialing Center. She became a registered nurse in 1996 and a licensed nurse practitioner in 2009. St. Myers joined Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital in 2011.

The Angels Camp Family Medical Center provides care in a traditional family practice setting, treating newborns to seniors. With support from a committed staff, the team of medical professionals delivers a range of medical services from preventive care to same day appointments.

“There are plans underway for a medical complex that will include a larger Family Medical Center and a new Women’s Health and Resource Center,” noted Monczewski. “We are so pleased that Dr. Steven Mills, Dr. Osborne, and nurse practitioner Carla St. Myers will join a team known for providing outstanding medical care to Angels Camp residents. Both Dr. Taylan and licensed physician assistant Star Hildabrand have already established a tremendous patient base and will continue to see patients as well.”

Both Dr. Mills and Carla St. Myers have been practicing at the Valley Springs Family Medical Center since summer of 2011. They began seeing patients at Angels Camp on January 9, 2012. Their patients can move with them to Angels Camp or choose to continue with the Valley Springs Family Medical Center. Dr. Richard Gonzales returned to Valley Springs Family Medical Center on January 9, 2012. Both practices welcome returning and new patients.
The planned 9, 171 sq. ft. medical complex was approved by the Angels Camp Planning Commission in October 2011. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2012.
