Tahoe Olympic Bid To Be Discussed At Opening of Conference
March 1, 2012 (South Lake Tahoe, Calif./Nev.) – Plans to prepare a potential bid to host the 2022 Olympic Winter Games at Reno/Lake Tahoe will be discussed by Nevada Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki at the opening of the North American Snowsports Journalists Association National Conference, March 5-9 at Tahoe South....
Should the United States Olympic Committee decide to submit a Bid for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games, Nevada and California leaders will work together in a bi-state effort to return the Games to the United States for the first time since Salt Lake City hosted the international event in 2002, and at Lake Tahoe since Squaw Valley hosted them in 1960.
Krolicki serves as chairman of the Reno Tahoe Winter Games Coalition, a distinguished group of private and public sector leaders from both Nevada and California dedicated to bringing the Winter Olympic Games back to the Lake Tahoe region. As Lt. Governor, Krolicki serves as President of the State Senate, Chairman of the Commission on Economic Development, Chairman of the Commission on Tourism and Vice-Chairman of the State Board of Transportation.
Travel and ski journalists representing national media: magazines, newspapers, websites, blogs and social media outlets will descend upon Tahoe South, March 5-9, for the North American Snowsports Journalists Association National Conference. The event is designed to generate significant editorial coverage for the area as a leading winter destination. A week of activities showcasing the Tahoe South region will provide attendees an authentic flavor for the area, its residents and the activities that make Lake Tahoe a national treasure.
