Plan to attend the April 7th Glencoe D2 Garden Club Presentation by Jason Kinn on Composting

Glencoe, CA...The April meeting of the Glencoe District 2 Garden Club will be held at the Blueberry Farm in Glencoe. Jason Kinn will continue the monthly presentation series given by local experts. His background in the subject spans over 25 years. He has worked on the high yield farms of Hawaii, managed a local supermarket's produce department, worked for Lee Hess' compost and vermiculture industry in Moke Hill, and sold at the Jackson Farmer's Market....

Jason will be using the "Rodale Book on Composting" and recommends it for both beginner and old timer. Learn from those in our group who are already composting. Our foothill and mountain environment poses a unique challenge. Follow the guided discussion as we review the basic techniques and methods then move into best practices and applications. Plan to participate by asking questions.

Samples in their various stages of decomposition will be shown. Then we'll take a break to walk out to Tom's greenhouse. Passing rows of blueberries we'll arrive at the Blueberry Farm's newly started compost project.

Stay tuned for upcoming topics on Vermiculture, Varment and Pest Control. Mark your calendars and resolve to learn from the gardening experts. Further details are on our website Glencoe.MerrimanNet.com or just do an online search for the "Glencoe D2 Garden Club". Announcements are also posted on FaceBook, throughout District 2 and on community and post office bulletin boards. All our meetings are free and open to the public.
