Three arrested near West Point from a vehicle stop after a gun was found

West Point, CA...On 6-26-12 at about 7:10pm, a Calaveras County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to catch up with a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Rail Road Flat Road to conduct an enforcement stop. The vehicle stopped near the 4500 block of Rail Road Flat Road and all occupants fled into the brush. A perimeter was established in the area and 3 subjects were detained nearby. During an investigation and with the assistance of witnesses in the area, a firearm was located nearby that was determined to be associated with the vehicle.

All three subjects Axiel Negron (34), Ernest Cuellar (18), and Rouchelya Malave (29) from Sacramento were arrested on various charges including resisting arrest/148(a)(1)PC, concealing evidence/135PC, 182(a)(1)PC/conspiracy to commit a crime, carrying a concealed firearm/25400PC, and carrying a loaded firearm in a public place/25850PC. Negron had an additional charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm/29900PC, Cuellar had an additional charge of fleeing in a motor vehicle from a peace officer/2800.1VC, and Malave had an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription/4060BP.

Sheriffs Dept rocks! Too bad the DA will bounce them. I fear that when the new jail opens they will still bounce local no-goods to make room for paying tennants from other counties.
