Weekending in Bear Valley for Great Weather, Music, Star Gazing and Adventure!
Bear Valley, CA...Bear Valley’s Annual Free Star Party on July 27th and 28th is family friendly and paired with Bear Valley Music Festival Concerts and outdoor adventures. Viewing the Stars, Moon and Milky Way through large professional telescopes in the dark sky, high altitude of Bear Valley maximizes visibility. The sixth annual Bear Valley Star Party is conveniently located in Bear Valley Village. The event is designed for the entire family with one optional daytime class on Saturday the 28th at 2:00 PM Bear Valley Lodge. The class offers information about that night’s viewing and more. Night viewing begins at approximately 9:30 PM.....

This year’s focus will be on the Moon and includes a professional astronomer with laser pointer to guide attendees through the viewing highlights. Attendees may bring their own telescopes as well as view through designated professional large telescopes. A raffle with astronomy themed gifts benefits the Bear Valley Music Festival.
The Star Party is just one of the family-friendly activities happening in Bear Valley that weekend. On Friday July 27th the annual Bear Valley Music Festival opens with the Broadway Bound concerts featuring three gifted singers and favorites from Broadway, Pops and opera music. Wine sponsor for the Broadway concert is Hovey Wines of Murphys.
Saturday morning July 28th the Festival’s concert for children opens with musical craft activity kits for children to decorate and take home, a musical petting zoo, face painting, sidewalk chalk walk and more. That is followed by a concert featuring the Bear Valley Twinklers children’s violin group and principal Bassist David Murray narrating and playing a special piece titled BB Wolf. Tickets are priced at $10 and include lunch. Mini cupcakes from the renowned bakers at Lila and Sage in Murphys (winner of Cupcake wars) will be the special sweet treat as a finale.
Saturday evening, Bear Valley Lodge’s pool area becomes a cool jazz club as the Festival and Bear Valley Real Estate & Vacation Rentals presents Grant Geissman and his Cool Man Cool Band performing in the casual outdoor setting. Wine, beverages and small plates will be available for sale as fundraisers.
Sunday the 29th kicks into high gear with a BBQ lunch on the sun deck overlooking the broad vistas of Bear Valley Mountain Resort for a high energy concert with David John and his popular group the Comstock Cowboys. The group appeals to even non-fans of western music with their entertaining performance, tall tales and classic music.
