Patricia Mary Veronica Boslet Griffen 1941 - 2012
Murphys, CA...Patricia Mary Veronica Boslet Griffin, 71, was granted her angel wings on September 3, 2012 at her home in Murphys, CA. She fought her illness with dignity and courage and now she has found peace. A memorial service will be held Sept 7, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. At St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Murphys. Pat, or Patsy, as she was called as a child, was born March 6, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York to John and Veronica Boslet, where her father was a newspaper pressman. The family relocated to California, when Patsy was almost 8 years old. She graduated in 1958 from Bellermen Jefferson High School in Burbank and continued on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in History/minor in Spanish from Cal State Northridge in 1963, and her Master of Arts in History and teaching credential in 1966. She then attended Sacramento State University in 1986 for her Reading Specialist credential...
She taught for LA County schools prior to her family relocating to Murphys in 1977, where she taught for Mark Twain Elementary school as a 2nd grade teacher and Reading Specialist for a number of years.
Pat was an active member in Girl Scouts, serving as a troop leader and council member. She was active with St. Patrick’s Church, as a lector, choir member and Altar Society. Along with her passion for reading, Pat was fascinated with the studying of her family ancestry, and was able to trace her ancestry back hundreds of years.
Pat felt her greatest accomplishment was that of a published author. She wrote and published St. Patrick’s Church of Murphys in 2008. She recently finished a historical book on the life of Archie Lee, the Last Black Slave in California, which is yet to be published.
She is survived by Dennis, her husband of 43 years; daughter, Jennifer Wilson and her husband Chris of Paso Robles; son Miles Griffin of Arnold; sister, Margaret Kruse and her husband, Wayne of La Canada, CA and her brother, John Boslet and his wife, Jacquie of Irvine, CA. She also leaves behind three beautiful granddaughters, Torilynn, Mackenzie and Keira Wilson of Paso Robles.
