TC Chamber Seeking Best of Tuolumne County Nominations
Sonora, Ca--Once again the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce is seeking the public's nominations for the "Best of Tuolumne County Awards." The Chamber has presented these awards since 1921 at the Community Awards and Installation Dinner, which will be held Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Elk's Lodge. Nominations can be made in each or all of four categories: Entrepreneur of the Year, Excellence in Government, Citizen of the Year, and Teacher of the Year. Individuals, service and business organizations, and businesses can make nominations. Nominations can be made over the Internet at www.TCchamber.com and click on Best of Tuolumne County Awards Nomination Form under What’s New, or by picking-up nomination papers at the Chamber office, 222 S. Shepherd Street, Sonora, open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Deadline for submission is October 5, 2012.
All information must be returned to the Chamber and becomes property of the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce. Recent past recipients:

“Entrepreneur of the Year” Qualifications: Nominee shall have demonstrated leadership in their firm and/or the business sector, as well as a special concern for their employees, the community and/or its citizens. They should have demonstrated staying power, commitment to customer service, a substantial history as an established business, growth in number of employees, and increase in sales and/or unit volume. The nominee must be associated with a business and/or branch office that is located in the county.
“Excellence in Government” Qualifications: Nominee shall have demonstrated excellence in his or her public sector position, demonstrated good working relationships with members of the business community, shown honesty and integrity in the conduct of their duty, and sound management of public moneys when applicable.
“Citizen of the Year” Qualifications: Nominee shall have been involved in voluntary services that have improved the quality of life for the citizenry of Tuolumne County, and have demonstrated outstanding leadership and community service beyond the call of duty. Their activities should have had significant impact on the community, including leadership of major volunteer projects, which help the community.
The nominee must have been a resident of Tuolumne County and lived here for at least two years.
“Teacher of the Year” Qualifications: Nominee shall be currently teaching in Tuolumne County and have been active in that position for at least 12 months. Nominee can be from any grade level, including Junior College. Their activities can be distinguished as “making a difference.” Nominee must be a resident of Tuolumne County.
