Arnold Residents Attend Patriot Academy
Arnold, CA...Dave Wagner and grandson Austin Wagner of Arnold, California had the privilege and great honor of attending the Patriot Academy in Austin, Texas July 29 -August 4. The Patriot Academy was founded by Rick Green and the Torch of Freedom Foundation in 2003 and has had a session every year since then. This is the third year Dave and Austin have attended and it was the first year the Academy has offered an adult track, which Dave attended. 112 young people from all over the United States and Canada attend the six day session and they work very hard and learn a great deal while they're there....
Patriot Academy is a huge opportunity for today's young adults to learn more about our constitution, how our government should work from a biblical aspect, and what an important role God played in the founding of our country. They actually take over the Texas State Capitol and run a "mock" government. Some young Patriots are Senators, some are Representatives and they have a Governor. They put together bills, introduce those bills, debate them, then vote on them and pass laws....just as if they were running a real government. They also have guest speakers and presentations which address many different subjects, problems and solutions. It was a great opportunity for Austin and Dave to associate with like minded Patriots....people who love the United States and the many freedoms and opportunities it offers. It was also an opportunity to spend time with other Christians...people who love God and realize what an important part He played in the forming of our government. Everyone who left the 2012 session was already planning for and looking forward to the 2013 session, including Dave and Austin (pictured with Patriot Academy founder Rick Green).
