Calavras County CAO Boyce Retiring

San Andreas, CA...In her statements at the close of Tuesday's Board of Supervisors Meeting Calaveras County CAO Boyce announced that she will be retiring at the end of the year. Jeanne Boyce can be credited for righting a very shaky fiscal ship that was taking on water during the fiscal downturn. Prior to becoming CAO Boyce was head of Health and Human Services at the county and has been an effective, leading county employee since the early 1990's when she join the county's ranks. So for those of you wishing for a new direction for the county January should be interesting with potentialy the largest changes in county leadership we have seen in quite some time...

Outgoing Supervisor Gary Tofanelli and Outgoing CAO Boyce Checking the first round of election returns earlier in the year.

Jeannie's parents are aging and the grandkids need to be played with so now is the time for the 57 year old to turn the page on a new chapter.

Many in different sectors of our local community expected a stronger CAO position under Boyce's reign as she was an insider and has been witness to the dysfunction and debacles that marred some of the years leading up to her taking the reigns.

Local CAO's unfortunately learn to count to three from their first days on the job. In a five member Board of Supervisors if they ever lose the confidence of 3 of the Supervisors then their time in the CAO's slot becomes very brief.

Life in the CAO's office is a balancing act between leading and trying not to get too far out if front of the will of the elected.

Good Luck Jeanne Boyce and Thank You for your service to the county!!!
