Lot's of Happenings at Big Trees State Park!
Calaveras Big Trees State Park, CA...There's lots going on at your neighborhood state park in the next few weeks. Visitor Center Hours: Open December 22 through January 6 - 11:00 am – 4:00 pm -Including Christmas and New Years Day! 3rd Annual Winter Wonderland Calaveras Big Trees Association is proud to announce the 3rd Annual Winter Wonderland. Mark your calendars for Friday, December 28, 2012 from 11 am to 3 pm. Regardless of the weather, CBTA will be ....
hosting wagon rides, music, and crafts for the kids, hot drinks, cookies and more. This is always a popular event so buy your tickets early: $12.50 for adults, $8.50 for kids under 12. Admission to the Park is $8.
Buy your tickets online at winter2012.eventsbot.com. Don't wait, the event sold out early last year. (If space becomes available on the day of the event, tickets will be $15 for adults and $10 for kids). Contact the CBTA office with questions at (209) 795-3840.
Warming Hut:
The Warming Hut, located at the end of the main parking lot, will once again be open and offering hot chocolate, hot cider and coffee and a warm place to get out of the cold. The hours will be, on weekends and the week days between Christmas and New Years, 12 noon until 4 pm. There will be a guided hike on Saturday's at 1 pm leaving from the Warming Hut. If snow conditions permit, this will be a snowshoe hike. Snowshoes are provided free of charge. Dress warm and were sturdy footwear for your winter adventure in this beautiful park.
Holiday Open House in Jack Knight Hall:
Take the opportunity to stop in and see the beautiful Jack Knight Hall decorated for the season. Under the direction of Cathy Fitzpatrick, CBTA is hosting a holiday Open House in Jack Knight Hall beginning Thanksgiving weekend and continuing each Saturday and Sunday through the weekend of December 29 and 30 from 12 noon until 2 pm. The hall will be festively decorated and docents will be serving hot chocolate and cider.
Membership and Donations
Contributions from memberships and donations to CBTA are a big reason the Park has been able to offer the educational and interpretive programs that make a visit to Calaveras Big Trees State Park such a rewarding and exciting experience for visitors of all ages. Did you know that without membership amd donations, CBTA would not exist and without CBTA support, these programs would be greatly cutback, if not eliminated entirely. All contributions to CBTA stay in the Park. We thank you so much for your continuing support.
All memberships, whether renewals or new, paid after October 1st, are good through 2013. Just click here to join or renew your membership.
