Traffic Update...Hwy 49 Blocked Near Airport. Updated Minor Injury Accident
San Andreas, CA...(One nice development from this accident that snarled traffic on Hwy 49 between San Andreas and Angels Camp is that it has been downgraded to a minor injury accident.) Crews are working an overturned vehicle on Hwy 49 near the airport. Both lanes are blocked at this time. Update as of 3:50pm...This will be a major injury accident with 3 injured. Two parties are out of the vehicle and the 3rd is still trapped in the vehicle but coherent... Update as of 4:11pm..One way traffic controls are in place now and traffic is starting to move. At this time there are still significant backups..

Obviously, when a car gets into an accident, it knows that it must stay within the lane of traffic.
Additionally, we want to make sure that emergency response folks have no safety zone in which to work.
