I'm thinking of another definition of the word drone.
1.
the male of the honeybee and other bees, stingless and making no honey. See illus. under bee.
2.
a.
an unmanned aircraft or ship that can navigate autonomously, without human control or beyond line of sight: the GPS of a U.S. spy drone.
b.
(loosely) any unmanned aircraft or ship that is guided remotely: a radio-controlled drone.
3.
a person who lives on the labor of others; parasitic loafer.
4.
a drudge.

What a glorious example of our democratic process in action! Everything grinds to a halt at the whim of even one single loon with some axe to grind. Surely this sort of situation is just what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they wrote the Senate filibuster rule into the Constitution.

It's About Brennan

After 9-11,(bush ignored the many warnings ,allowed the attacks) The Constitution,Bill of Rights was Shredded.Brennan under bush cheered on torture, which has been shown delivers unreliable information. The US moral standing is now in the toilet.Add the drone killings(85% innocents killed),and the US has lost it's moral compass.
Holder now says Obama can order drone killings in the US against US citizens.
Sen Paul wants to focus on the drone killings and Brennan's endorsement of torture.
The Constitution prohibited the killings such as drone attacks. To know Obama meets once a week to sign death by drone orders is beyond any legal argument. No American President has the legal ability to be judge, jury, executioner.

There's something about the idea of a drone that pretty much all of us find a little creepy. Responding to our conditioning. We've all see the Terminator movies, and the Matrix, and all that.
The old-fashioned, boots on the ground approach lacks that same creep factor, but as a response to some types of situations, surely you will admit that drones do have certain advantages, such as the surgical precision which can provide the opportunity to reduce our own casualties to zero and minimize collateral damage to innocent civilians on the receiving end.

Ive seen what drones can do first hand on the battlefield, and they are amazing things. And real lifesavers to those who are in harms way.
But to be used on American soil, armed, against Americans, well I have a problem with that.
Fact is, this gun debate has hit alot of points, but the people who fear their government arent exactly that far off base when they see police with tanks, and now the CIA using armed drones in American skies.
Seems to me, the left and right, are so far to their corners that there is no middle ground.
There will be another civil war in this country in the next 100 years if this keeps on the way it is.
Two sides who wont meet in the middle is never a good thing.
Seen that first hand as well in a few really nice countries over the years!

I think that your right about the possibility of a civil war happening here, but much sooner than later. With the federal government purchasing 2 billion rounds of ammunition not intended cow military use and buying over 2,000 armored fighting vehicles for DHS, I'd say that they're intending for it to happen within this administrations watch.

Looks like you suffer under the rather common misperception that the first Civil War actually ended.
I wonder: Do secessionists salute the U.S. flag?

It's a bit of political theater staged for "Teh evil gubments a-comin to git us" lunatics.
It can become self-fullfilling prophesy. Bunch of religious fanatics go into seclusion and stockpile weapons while they await the Second Coming. When the prophesied date passes uneventfully, they go even crazier, and eventually a shoving match ensues over how many underage wives a feller is entitled to and which one of them is the true prophet and whatnot. Sheriff eventually gets involved, and the thing escalates into a shootout with ATF agents attempting to execute a warrant, followed by a seige which ends when somebody sets the whole place afire.
Not exactly a model of restraint in law enforcement, but I can't see the government sending in drones in a situation like that, either. Know why? Because -- unlike some members of the current Congress -- I'm not a member of the lunatic fringe.

Ah wiki........you still amaze me. You still believe that our Gov. is this good and decent soul, out to make everybody's life a cake walk.
In your opinion(which you don't have), Why has the Gov. bought all this military type equipment for the DHS. What do they think is going to happen right here in the gool Ol' US of A.

I don't believe that "the government" is any kind of soul. I don't feel that I have enough information to form a strong opinion on the particular aspect of government purchasing policy mentioned, and I don't regard it as important enough for me to have such an opinion that I am willing to just make stuff up, using as the basis all of the thousands of hours of my life that I have, regrettably, wasted on watching television.
The paranoia about drones strikes me (so to speak!) as simply a form of technophobia. As a military tool, drones have a particular type of application. They can cross borders undetected and penetrate deep into hostile territory without risking the life of a single American serviceman. Within our own borders, where there is no risk from enemy aircraft, SAMs, or whatever, a simpler solution would seem be to just scramble a couple of jets -- if the nature of the situation is such that blowing something up is the only solution. I can't easily picture such scenarios ever becoming very commonplace. Most of the time, if "the government" decides that the only way to handle a threat is to kill somebody (and that may happen from time to time), they're probably just going to drive to the location. If some nutcase was holding a bunch of school kids hostage, and a sniper on the roof of a nearby building reported that he had a clean shot at the guy, would you have a problem with giving him the "go" signal? I know I wouldn't. Would you like to see legislation that took that option out of the hands of law enforcement officers and other agents of "the government"?

You're very correct there! It's about time someone had enough honesty, integrity and belief in the constitution to stand up for what is right. This was a great example of practicing what our forefathers had in mind when they designed our government!

Drones

The argument on drones is that they save American lives. True. Is there collateral damage? Yes. Obama has murdered hundreds of children with them. Do they cross over boarders undetected? Well yes. We need to kill terrorists, and whoever is standing next to them.
The Chinese have terrorists attacks too. So whats stopping them from sending drones undetected over a boarder, say, the california coast, and kill some terrorists. Maybe the terrorist they kill are computer hackers traced back to US soil. And just maybe your kids are in the same building as these terrorists. More collatteral damage. But look at the bright side. No chinese soldiers were at risk. And the operater will probably get a medal of honor. Good for him too. Because he stopped a terrorist.

Ole Strom out did Randy easily. In the old days ,the speaker would have lots of water for his throat, and a jug to pi** in.There were no women Senators then, and Ole Strom was fillibust'n the Civil Rights act.Luckily the SCOTUS is fix'n to roll that back now that it's not needed ha ha ha,right. The Conservatives racist colors on display in our highest court.
Rand Paul does have valid questions, the military now has free rein to go anywhere in the world kidnap, torture,or drone kill anyone anywhere even in the US.This is what his efforts were about.
The US has lost any and all moral equivalence.
